I have lived in Pembrokeshire in West Wales for the last thirty years. I was born and educated in London, & went to classes in life-drawing and sculpture at Camberwell Art School, and then to Exeter Art College in Devon to study painting and ceramics.
I have worked in occupational therapy, in adult education, and teaching in a private school, & now run a small specialist printing business, Nebula Images.
I began exhibiting work regularly in 1988, and have work in collections in America, Australia, and Hong Kong, as well as the U.K.
My main work is figurative, based on landscape done outdoors, principally in oils on canvas, as the brilliance of the colours & immediacy of approach express the experience of working in the open air. Another part of the work is based on the human figure: drawings from the model and portraits from life. A third section of work is more abstract, although drawn from all the visual experience of work before the subject, & includes the use of some printing techniques.
All the work is linked by a common experience of the delight & harmony of the visual world & seeks to convey some of this pleasure.
